I haven’t blogged in several days….
At just a few days shy of 13 months, Boston has been taking his first steps.
We adopted two kittens.
We finally got a kitchen table.
Rachel and Julie are taking dance (hip hop for Rachel and ballet/tap for Julie).
Rachel is starting in a first grade girl scout troop rather than me doing the second grade troop.
We opened a “The Good Geeks” store.
We are all going to be pirates for Halloween.
Life has been kicking my ass and taking names. I will post pictures over the next couple of days.

TeamRachel aka mrskatvon is both a website to gain public awareness of Juvenile Batten Disease (which affects my oldest daughter) as well as a journal to remember the events in our lives.
Rachel was diagnosed with Batten Disease in July 2009 and while we knew something was "not right" we had no idea that such a nightmarish disease existed. There are dozens of nasty, orphan disease which affect people both very young and old.
Aside from dealing with the changes of Batten Disease in my daughter, Rachel, I have tasked myself with making life memorable for all of my children to make sure that (at least) 3 of them grow up to be as well adjusted and happy as possible.
It has been insane huh?
It seems that life is kicking everyone’s a$$ these days…sign of the times!! Hang in there….

I hear ya… I’m getting my ass kicked and handed to me as well. HUGS, I hope things settle down for you.

Hey, I am here too. I keep thinking about you and Rach – when you get a chance – read my BelleBearBerry blog about the newest “find” in our reading struggles. Also pertains to ADD stuff. Very interesting. I think the hiphop dance is PERFECT for Rachel.
