Depressed
Rachel seems to be going into a depression. Who wouldn’t be depressed, losing your vision, losing your mind.
I’m looking at old pictures of her, seeing that smile, trying to remember what the BEFORE was like.
This just can’t be real.
About Me
TeamRachel aka mrskatvon is both a website to gain public awareness of Juvenile Batten Disease (which affects my oldest daughter) as well as a journal to remember the events in our lives.
Rachel was diagnosed with Batten Disease in July 2009 and while we knew something was "not right" we had no idea that such a nightmarish disease existed. There are dozens of nasty, orphan disease which affect people both very young and old.
Aside from dealing with the changes of Batten Disease in my daughter, Rachel, I have tasked myself with making life memorable for all of my children to make sure that (at least) 3 of them grow up to be as well adjusted and happy as possible.

I honestly don’t know what to say, Kat. What do you say other than I’m here, I really, really care, I’m so sorry this is happening to Rachel, and life is damn cruel sometimes. I wish I lived closer. I’d bring you a coffee and give you a real hug.
Couldnt sleep, guess it was the Mountain Dew but Rachel is constantly om my mind. You are a wonderful Mother & doing a fantastic job in the care of Rachel, Julie London Boston & John.

Oh honey, I know we don’t “understand” but I do understand you are going through hell right now and I am always here for you. I honestly can’t imagine going through all you both are. Your entire family and especially Rachel are always in my thoughts. Love you!
